Tomorrow i will be flying off to be in Portland for 2 weeks. Very exciting. i am not ready at all: not done with any laundry, haven't packed, haven't gotten a working phone. But i'm not worried at all, as i handle pressure well. but, i'm amazingly excited. Portland is my mecca. The city i adore. i will be spending a full day in Powell's, the most amazing bookstore ever. Also, i might be able to meet with Arne Johnson, one of the filmmakers behind Girls Rock! the Movie, which will be such a highlight for me if i can actually get in touch with him. So, yes. i am looking forward to this little trip.

speaking of Portland, i was listening to All Songs Considered a few days ago, and Bob Boilen spoke of this band AU (like ay-you) who are from Portland. I now really like their music, and luckily they are playing a show in Portland at Backspace with (((GRRLS))) and Pwrfl Power. I went on the AU website, and apparently MTV is going to be there filming for some Portland scene spotlight. Which is weird and kind of sucks, but i will be able to deal with if i can see three amazing bands while on the west coast.
