orifices haha yes. the last thing i copied was orifices. a friend of mine was wondering what the plural of orifices would be. so, you know, i had to try and help and figure it out. even though i'm the worst speller ever.
amazingly tired. fuck.
a good friend had a 21st birthday party last night. keg galore. i brought jello shots. somehow two of the roommates bro'd up and punched each other in the eye. one might've broke his wrist? it looked bad. i (again) had sex with the guy i'm crushing on so hard, who is unfortunately moving out of the state in a few months. so, i'm trying to get my kicks now.
unfortunately, this leads to the next issue. i have a hatred for birth control. and, like most guys, i think sex it better without condoms. so, once again, i have to get plan b (morning after pill). i really need to work on this. it's only the second time having to purchase it, but i should probably be much more careful than i have been.
somehow, i don't fucking know how, this came up in conversation with me brother. that i had to go buy plan b. and he went and started saying how i "have to have more respect for my body" and "don't let a guy take advantage of me". which kind of left me speechless. because i don't let guys take advantage of me. if anything, i'm taking advantage of them. i want sex usually more than they do. which is kind of suprising. but, him saying this to me was just kind of like a punch in the stomach. my brother-- the 17 year-old ex crack dealer-- thinks i'm doing something wrong. it's just weird. maybe i am a whore...
but yes, now for my to-do list for me:
- call pharmacy, make sure they carry plan-b. buy.
- call up psychologist, change appt.
- buy new sneakers. mine have officially died.
- yoga
- write final paper
woohoo for no more classes! it's so fucking nice.
i'm watching the documentary on Bob Dylan. i don't really listen to Dylan too much. but, i have to say i am completely fascinated by him. especially 1960's Dylan. if you ever get the chance, watch I'm Not There, the new biopic on him. it is ridiculously obscure, but wonderful.
i miss recording. even looking at a microphone makes me miss it. damn. this year is going to be hard.
in 3 hours i will be leaving with Matt and Bradon to go see RADIOHEAD! actually, i have to be honest. i am not the biggest Radiohead fan. but, they don't play around here, let alone in the US, too often. so i figured, "why the hell not?" just another notch on my great bands seen belt. which has expanded so much since may started. here are some videos from the free "WE <3 OBAMA" rally in Greensboro... Arcade Fire and Superchunk played a free show. And then the next day i went to Richmond with a friend to see GirlTalk. Which was so amazing and so packed:
1. Superchunk. 2. Arcade Fire. 3. GirlTalk.
Show us the person you'd most like to switch bodies and lives with for one freaky Friday.
didn't even have to think about this one:
this is Mac McCaughan, the guitarist/singer from Superchunk. also, co-founder of Merge Records. Laura Ballance would be pretty cool to trade places with (bassist for Superchunk and other founder of Merge), but i had a better picture of Mac.
they both give me hope in north carolina music. even if Superchunk is 15+ years old.

obviously, i did not take this picture. but this is my mixer. or, then again, my old mixer. i'm not the production director next year. but, i love this piece of electronica. even with all its flaws, it makes beautiful music. i miss it already.
this is the cover of our compilation CD from 2007.
How many pair of shoes do you have? Out of those pairs, how many do you wear more than a few times a year?
Submitted by fightinggale.
i don't have many shoes. let's be cliche though. because i'm a "girl", not many shoes means more than one. i have about... six (2 sneakers, 1 sandal, 1 slip on, 1 flat, 1 heel). i lost a few pairs somehow, which is really dissapointing.
out of these six, i wear five of them constantly. because i will never, ever, ever wear heels again. i will never be doing a recital again, so i have no reason to dress up. also, this means i have no "nice" clothes if i ever do have a job interview.
but really. if i could NOT wear shoes, life would be amazing. i remember being a little kid and running through the woods with my friends. shoeless. walking over pinecones, pine needles, anything else sharp.. and not caring. i also have a habit of walking on my toes. i've been doing this since i could walk. apparently when i was a kid, i wanted to be taller (actually see over the counter). and now, 16 years later, i still do it. but not so much. because i have to wear shoes, and you can't really stand on your toes as comfortably while wearing shoes.
okay that's it. hello, vox. let's see how you work out.
